MFTEDA Signs Overseas Talent Workstation Framework Agreement with Zhongshan Torch Hi-Tech Zone

The Macao–Zhongshan Youth Talent Exchange Salon — “Macao and Zhongshan Gathering Talent, Youth Creating the Future” — was held on 6 December 2025 at the China Zhongshan Pioneer Park for Overseas Students. Guided by the Party Building Office of the Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and hosted by the Zone's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Centre and the Torch Talent Hub, the event was co-organised by MFTEDA and the Macao Scholars Development Association, bringing together over 50 entrepreneurs, young talent and master's and doctoral representatives from both cities.

At the event, the Torch Hi-Tech Zone Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Centre and MFTEDA signed a framework cooperation agreement on an overseas talent workstation. Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in talent promotion and outreach, the referral of high-level talent, the organisation of exchange activities and the building of liaison platforms, jointly broadening channels for international talent recruitment.

During the salon, young Macao talent presented three innovation roadshows — AI-empowered traditional Chinese medicine R&D, secure IoT communications, and an aerial operating system — demonstrating the research strength and entrepreneurial vitality of Macao's youth. Participants later visited the National Health Technology Park, the Greater Bay Area Academy of Inspection and Quarantine Science, and Guangda Optics, gaining first-hand insight into the industrial ecosystem and innovation platforms of the Torch Hi-Tech Zone.

The Torch Hi-Tech Zone's 2025 annual review of talent work confirmed that the Torch Talent Hub and MFTEDA are jointly building an overseas talent workstation, marking a new, institutionalised stage in bilateral talent cooperation. MFTEDA will continue to serve as a bridge, helping Macao's young talent seize the development opportunities of the Greater Bay Area.
