MFTEDA Signs China–France (Macao) Brand Globalization Strategic Investment Cooperation Agreement at UNESCO Headquarters
On 28 May, local time in France, the 12th China–France Brand Summit Forum opened in grand style at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris. Dr. Yang Cheng, President of the Macao Financial Technology and Education Development Association (MFTEDA) and Chairman of the Macao Digital Innovation Association, attended the forum and formally signed a strategic framework agreement on “China–France (Macao) Brand Globalization Strategic Investment Cooperation” with the China–France Brand Aesthetics Center.

The agreement was signed in the joint presence of Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister of France and Special Representative of the French President for China Affairs, and Lam Hoi Kin, Director of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. Reached before senior officials from China and France and representatives of the Macao SAR Government, this important cooperation reflects the great importance attached to brand collaboration and innovation at the official level, and marks the entry of trade and commercial cooperation between Macao and France into a deeper, more practical stage.

Under the agreement, the two sides will draw on China–France brand resources, cultural exchange and digital innovation strengths to jointly promote a deeper presence for Macao brands in European and global markets. Through brand resource synergy, digital communication capacity building and international market matchmaking, it will provide Macao's distinctive brands with a new gateway to the China–France and China–Europe markets. This cooperation not only deepens brand collaboration among the Chinese mainland, Macao and France, but also injects strong momentum into Macao brands' journey from regional distinctive expression to the international stage.
Dr. Yang Cheng said that Macao, as an important bridge connecting China with Portuguese-speaking countries and European markets, enjoys unique locational advantages and cultural diversity. The two teams will jointly help Chinese and French enterprises cross borders through Macao, adapt and integrate, and embrace one another — together crafting a precise playbook for making the most of Macao's international platform. In implementing the national strategy through “international circulation”, they will help Chinese technology enterprises expand overseas with agility, fulfil with precision the role of a super connector, and bring out the distinctive value of Macao's technology services.
During the event, Dr. Yang Cheng also attended the China–France Brand Summit Forum gala dinner, where he presented Chinese technology enterprises expanding overseas from Macao to former French Prime Minister Mr. Raffarin and the French political and business leaders in attendance, receiving strong recognition and support from the leaders and industry experts present.

At the China–France Brand Week European Pioneer Selection Event, technology enterprises recommended by MFTEDA drew wide attention. Three technology enterprises from the Chinese mainland — Zhongke Yuandongli, Deke Zhikong and MIBUDDY — set out from Macao, reached the Marie Curie Club and entered UNESCO and Europe. This not only created a successful example of Chinese enterprises going global from Macao, but also showed the world the leap of Chinese brands from “product export” to “value expression”.

Looking ahead, MFTEDA will work hand in hand with the Macao Digital Innovation Association to continuously deepen brand cooperation with the French and European markets, promote the deep integration of digital innovation and brand aesthetics, fully leverage its role as a platform, and help Chinese brands enter the European market at higher premiums, achieving high global value and cultural resonance, and contributing to Macao's integration into the national dual-circulation development paradigm and international high-end brand exchanges.
