“GBA Development and Innovation & Entrepreneurship Workshop” Successfully Held — President Yang Cheng Speaks on Opportunities for GBA Youth
The “GBA Development and Innovation & Entrepreneurship Workshop”, hosted by the Macao Financial Technology and Education Development Association (MFTEDA) and co-organised by Guangzhou Huashang Vocational College, was held on the afternoon of 16 January at the conference hall on the 19th floor of Nam Tung Commercial Building.
The workshop aimed to help students gain a comprehensive understanding of the innovation and entrepreneurship environment in the Greater Bay Area — in particular Macao's industrial strengths and policy incentives — through a combination of policy briefings, case sharing and interactive discussions, thereby stimulating young students' entrepreneurial awareness and innovative spirit and laying a solid foundation for their future employment or entrepreneurship. The event was supported by the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area International Talent Station.
Dr. Yang Cheng, President of MFTEDA, delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Opportunities and Challenges for Young People in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area”. He offered an in-depth analysis of the international political and economic landscape and the current state of the GBA's economic development, noting that as a new engine of China's economic growth, the GBA provides young people with vast room for development — and that Macao's youth, with their distinctive advantages, can accomplish a great deal in cross-border entrepreneurship.

When discussing talent demand in the GBA market, Dr. Yang Cheng emphasised the importance of high-calibre, innovative talent and shared several success stories of young Macao entrepreneurs in the Greater Bay Area, analysing in depth the challenges encountered in cross-border entrepreneurship and employment, as well as strategies for addressing them.
During the interactive session, students were highly enthusiastic and asked questions actively. Dr. Yang patiently answered questions on topics such as entrepreneurship policies and career planning, and offered tailored advice based on each student's academic background. The students said the event had given them a clearer understanding of the development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area and had ignited their passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The young students also visited the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area International Talent Station, where they learned about the GBA's employment and entrepreneurship policies.

The event built a platform for exchange between young people from Guangdong and Macao and promoted coordinated development between the two regions in innovation and entrepreneurship. The organiser said similar events will continue to be held in the future, helping GBA youth find their place in the tide of the times, realise their dreams, and contribute their youthful energy to the high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.
